Solo and Chamber Music to Follow Nakdong Art Center Opening in Busan

Busan’s Nakdong Art Center, the city’s first dedicated classical venue, will present a series of solo and chamber music programs following its large-scale opening concerts. Officials say chamber music tests a hall’s acoustic design and spatial balance because the interplay and interpretive differences among players are exposed. Featured recitals include trumpeter Seong Jae-chang (former associate principal of the Finnish National Orchestra) and violinist Kim Da-mi (winner of the Hannover Joachim International Violin Competition). Seong’s trumpet recital will emphasize tone, breath control, and musical density rather than virtuoso showmanship—a rare solo wind recital in Korea—while Kim’s violin recital will reveal the artist’s interpretation outside the orchestral context.
