HYBE has applied to the Cultural Heritage Administration for permission to hold a K-pop concert featuring BTS around Gwanghwamun and Gyeongbokgung at the end of March, ahead of the group's March 20 comeback with their fifth studio album 'Arirang' (ARIRANG). The tentative event, dubbed 'K-Heritage and K-pop Fusion,' would use historic sites including Geunjeongmun and Heungnyemun at Gyeongbokgung, the Gwanghwamun area and wall (damjang), and Sungnyemun. The Cultural Heritage Committee will review the permit application on the 20th. HYBE said plans are still under discussion and details will be announced once finalized. BTS previously performed at Gyeongbokgung (Geunjeongjeon and Gyeonghoeru) in 2020, which was featured on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
