Kia plans to introduce GT (high-performance) versions of the EV3, EV4 5-door, and EV5 in Europe, aiming to shift focus from volume to higher-margin segments as EV demand grows. The compact EV3 and EV4 GTs use 81.4 kWh batteries and are expected to produce about 215 kW (292 hp). The EV5 GT, a compact crossover, combines a 155 kW front motor and 70 kW rear motor for around 225 kW (306 hp). Features include simulated gear shifts and active sound to enhance driving feel. Kia has already proven the GT badge with the EV6 GT and EV9 GT and plans production possibly in the first half of the year, with pricing for top trims set above standard models (EV5 top trim near €50,000). The move targets European buyers as EV sales there rose 36% last year while overall sales slipped, helping Kia bolster brand image and profitability.
