Korea Seeks Model ‘Workation’ Destinations with Funding and Promotion

South Korea’s Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) is accepting entries until Feb 20 for its 2026 workation (work + vacation) excellence program, aiming to find two local governments or regional tourism organizations with community-centered workation models. Winners will receive up to 200 million won in support for promotion and participant recruitment, plus joint online/offline marketing and events through partners like the Korea Chamber of Commerce. Eligible applicants must have at least one workation center with 20+ work seats, meeting rooms, and office equipment; evaluation will emphasize benefits to local residents and nearby businesses and links to existing municipal projects.
