Gangwon Cultural Foundation Renovates Provincial Theatre's Prop and Costume Warehouse, Expands Free Rentals

The Gangwon Cultural Foundation has fully renovated the Gangwon Provincial Theatre's prop and costume warehouse and expanded its free rental service to support local performing groups. Launched in 2019 to ease production costs for independent local troupes, the program opens public cultural assets for creative use. The renovation reorganized items by period—classical, modern, contemporary, and foreign—so renters can more easily find pieces that match their productions. Over the past six years, local arts groups have borrowed about 2,300 items across 100 occasions, reducing production expenses. The service is available to performances and events hosted or organized by local private companies and public institutions; applications are made through the provincial theatre's operations office website.
