K-Auction will hold its first auction of 2026 on Jan. 28 at its Sinsa-dong headquarters in Seoul, offering 94 lots estimated around 9.8 billion KRW. The sale highlights blue-chip Asian modern and contemporary artists — including Yayoi Kusama (several prints and canvases such as the butterfly-themed work and a 1982 Dress), Kim Chang-Yeol (early water-drop painting 'ABS N°2'), and Lee Ufan (large Dialogue work) — reaffirming strong demand for these market staples. A dedicated section spotlights influential women artists across generations, like Chun Kyung-ja and Yang Hye-kyu, echoing global interest in female artists. Drawings and smaller works by Korean masters such as Kim Hwan-gi, Lee Jung-seop, and Park Soo-keun are also included, offering more accessible entry points for new collectors. All lots are on free public view at K-Auction until the sale; registered (free) members may bid in person, by phone, online live or by absentee bids.
