Paris Baguette will release a Lunar New Year gift collection inspired by the Netflix animated film K-pop Demon Hunters. The line spotlights the film’s tiger Duffy and magpie Seossi, reimagining the traditional Korean folk painting hojakdo (호작도 — a folk painting of a tiger and magpie believed to ward off evil and bring good news) in modern cake designs. The “Duffy & Seossi Fortune Cake” is a pouch-shaped cake topped with a hologram pick showing the characters against a pine-tree background; the pick doubles as a keyring. Other new items include a Mungyeong omija (오미자 — five-flavor berry) roll cake and a premium Cheonhyehyang (천혜향 — a sweet, juicy Jeju citrus) pound cake, both packaged with subtle holographic images of the characters. Paris Baguette also offers a discounted gift set, “PBA New Year Fortune Set,” containing three traditional-flavored treats: PBA Yakgwa Tigré (a baked cookie topped with yakgwa, a traditional honey cookie), PBA Gotgam Pound (with walnuts, figs, and jujubes), and PBA Ssuk-tteok Cookie (mugwort rice cake–flavored cookie). The bakery previously released a collaboration “Huntrix Golden Cake” tied to the same animation, featuring limited-edition acrylic stand goods.
