Chungbuk Designates Four Local Festivals Including Goesan Kimchi-Making Festival

Chungcheongbuk-do (Chungbuk) province has selected four provincial-designated festivals for the year: the Goesan Kimjang Festival (kimchi-making), the Boeun Jujube Festival, the Okcheon Jiyongje (literary/music festival honoring poet Jiyong), and the Jeungpyeong Insamgol Gukje (ginseng valley festival). The top festivals—Goesan Kimjang and Boeun Jujube—each receive 70 million won in provincial grants, while the Jiyongje and Insamgol festivals receive 30 million won each. The province will also support promotion through official channels, tourism product development, and professional festival consulting to boost these events’ national competitiveness.
