Park Yong-man (71), former chairman of Doosan Group and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, opened his first solo photo exhibition 'HUMAN MOMENT' at piknic in Seoul (Jan 16–Feb 15). The show presents about 80 photographs selected from decades of work; a photo book of roughly 200 images was published alongside the exhibition. Park’s interest in photography began in high school and grew through lifelong, informal documentary-style shooting with a camera once used by his father. The exhibition centers on people—street portraits, candid moments, and scenes where human presence or touch is evident—reflecting a warm, human-focused gaze. Early sections of the show reference his corporate past (including images from a Norway business trip and portraits in an office elevator) to mark the transition from businessman to artist. The exhibition also includes black-and-white images of marginalized subjects (elderly people, homeless individuals, and pre-redevelopment shantytowns) set against Seoul’s urban backdrop. Park emphasized that this public presentation asserts his identity as a photographer, distances his work from political speculation, and signals his intent to continue photographing.
