Uniqlo Donates 500 Upcycled Furniture Items to Childcare Facilities

Japan-based apparel brand Uniqlo has partnered with Korean child welfare organization Green Umbrella (초록우산) to donate 500 pieces of furniture made from recycled textiles collected at Uniqlo stores. Garments unsuitable for donation are repurposed as material to produce bookshelves, desks and other furniture, which will be distributed to 30 child-rearing facilities. Uniqlo also gave 350 million won in funding to support the project, saying it aims to improve living spaces for children and promote resource circularity (resource recycling/upcycling).
