Daegu cultural institutions received hundreds of donated artworks and historical items, strengthening local collections for research, exhibitions and education. Daegu Culture & Arts Center accepted 125 items (94 artworks, 31 documents) after a review, and will showcase them in a special exhibition next month. Notable donations include works by contemporary and regional artists, galleries like Lianne Gallery, and family archives such as the materials donated by Lee Jeom-hee’s son that enabled a new published artist record. Three municipal museums — the Daegu Modern History Museum, Daegu Bangjja Yugi Museum, and Daegu Local History Museum — together took in about 750 items last year. Some donated objects, like an 1900 fire relief monument, have been designated cultural heritage (cultural heritage designation) for their historical value. The museum authority runs a year-round donation campaign, offers recognition (honor roll and awards) to donors, and plans programs to use donated items for public displays and research.
