Makeup Artist Han Hyun-jae Launches Color Cosmetics Inspired by BTS Work

Han Hyun-jae, a 40-year-old makeup artist known as 'Shop Ttung' who has worked with BTS, Cha Eun-woo, and others, launched his own color cosmetics brand 'Shop Han Hyun-jae' after more than a year of development. Starting from humble beginnings—his first salary as a 20-year-old was 350,000 won and he began by cleaning a salon—Han trained himself through relentless practice and built a 20-year career. He focused on creating a cushion product with desirable texture, coverage, and shades, revising prototypes over 30 times. With strong consumer response, he plans additional releases this year and aims for 20 billion won in sales. He emphasizes that makeup requires delicate human skill and personalization, so it won’t be easily replaced by AI, and advises aspiring artists to have people skills, stamina, constant practice, and a sense for trends. When asked if he would choose another life, he said he would still be a makeup artist.
