Mokpo Natural History Museum will operate a hands-on winter break program for children and families from Jan 17 to Feb 14. The participatory program aims to foster creativity by having kids observe and record nature through two activities: making a fabric calendar that uses animal, plant and dinosaur materials to cut, paste and draw (fabric calendar); and decorating a "little dinosaur cape" (cape) to encourage imagination. The cape can be worn while touring the museum exhibits. Sessions run every Saturday at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 PM in the museum's Discovery Zone. Registration is first-come, on-site; fee is 3,000 won. More details are available on the museum website. Museum staff said the program is designed to help children feel closer to nature and science through play.
