The psychological thriller play The Wasp, which captivated UK audiences, will receive its Korean premiere at Sejong S Theater in Seoul from March 8 to April 26, co-hosted by Haven Production and Sejong Center. The two-character drama, written by British playwright Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, follows high school friends Heather and Carla who reunite after 20 years, exposing how trauma and class divisions corrode inner lives beyond a simple victim-perpetrator binary. The play debuted in London (2015) to critical acclaim and sold-out shows, later staging in Chicago (2016), Melbourne (2017), and New York (2025), and receiving major nominations at Australia’s Green Room Awards. In the Korean cast, Kim Ryeo-won, Han Ji-eun, and Lee Kyung-mi play Heather (a woman who appears outwardly elegant but is inwardly scarred), while Kwon Yuri and Jung Woo-yeon portray Carla (a survivor shaped by harsh life struggles). The production is directed by actor-director Lee Hang-na, known for keenly capturing character psychology. (Sejong S Theater: a performance venue within Sejong Center)
