Renault Korea CEO Nicolas Parry and R&D chief Choi Sung-kyu say the new Filante was specifically developed for Korean consumers and will be produced in Busan. The E-segment (near large) crossover has about 60% local content (localization) to meet logistics, quality and domestic safety rules. Customer feedback from online communities during the Grang Koleos program heavily shaped Filante’s design, prioritizing comfort for Korea’s congested roads with a lounge-like interior, 4.9 m overall length, lower ride height and SUV practicality plus sedan ride comfort. Performance was retuned for Korea (“Korean-style tuning”) with increased torque and sharper throttle response; NVH was reduced using laminated glass and 34 ADAS features were added for high safety standards. Software update processes learned from Grang Koleos will enable continuous post-sale improvements. Renault Korea plans to export the Busan-made Filante to regions such as Latin America and the Middle East by the end of the year, positioning it as a global flagship developed and built to Korean consumer tastes.
