Gangwon Provincial Theatre Company Opens Casting for 7th Troupe with Local Talent Priority

Gangwon Provincial Theatre Company is recruiting its 7th group of actors for 2026: seven positions (six non-regular members — 1 A member, 5 B members — and one trainee). Applications close on the 23rd at 3 PM. The company, focused on community-centered productions and widening cultural access, has introduced a new 'local talent priority selection' policy to nurture regional artists and strengthen the local arts ecosystem. The trainee post is part of the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service's 2026 youth arts job support (a government program). Selected actors will join the company’s performances from March 1 to December 31, and the recruitment is open nationwide. Artistic Director Kim Kyung-ik said the move aims to build a stable public platform where locally developed artistic capacity can flourish and to grow the public theatre together with regional artists.
