Chef Jung Ho-young, an izakaya-style (Japanese-style) chef who runs 'Udon Kaden' with locations in Yeonhui-dong, Jeju, and Hapjeong, said his restaurant sales rose 1.5 times after he appeared on the Netflix variety show 'Black & White Chefs: Culinary Class War Season 2'. He shared the boost on KBS2’s variety show and noted customers now praise his looks and presence as well as his cooking. Jung said watching season 1 inspired him to join season 2 for personal and professional growth, and thanked viewers for their support. A PMI quick poll found 61.6% of respondents felt the show’s craze and 72.5% of those said they plan or want to visit featured chefs’ restaurants or buy related products, suggesting the program drives real consumer activity similar to season 1’s notable reservation spikes.
