Dunkin (operated by BR Korea) launched a limited-time 'Blueberry Cream Cheese Donut' for the 2026 New Year, inspired by the viral online recipe known as 'ex-boyfriend toast'. The original 'ex-boyfriend toast' (a toast topped with cream cheese and blueberry jam that went viral after a 2018 community post) became an internet meme and gained attention overseas. Dunkin reinterpreted the combination into a tart-shaped donut filled with cream cheese and a generous dollop of blueberry jam in the center, aiming for a soft, tangy flavor and attractive look. A Dunkin representative said customers wanted an easy-to-make version of the blueberry toast and encouraged interest in their upcoming seasonal campaign.
