Tickets for the 2026 Tongyeong International Music Festival (March 27–April 5) went on sale, and popular shows—most notably pianist Cho Seong-jin’s recital and the opening concert by the Tongyeong Festival Orchestra—sold out immediately. The festival, themed “FACE the DEPTH,” will present 26 performances featuring world-class artists such as violinist Augustin Hadelich, countertenor and b-boy Yakub Józef Orliński, and resident composer Sir George Benjamin (whose works will be highlighted). Top ensembles and conductors—including the Gyeonggi Philharmonic led by Kim Sun-wook, David Robertson with the Tongyeong Festival Orchestra, the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble Moderne (contemporary music), the Modigliani Quartet, and Il Giardino Armonico led by Giovanni Antonini—will also appear. The festival organizer said local accommodation bookings are competitive as audiences plan visits. Early-bird tickets are 20% off until Jan 16 at 6 p.m.; full program details are on the Tongyeong International Music Foundation website.
