Comedian-turned-writer Lee Chang-ho joined the 2025 revival of the musical Beetlejuice as a comedy adapter, working with translator Kim Su-bin to sharpen the show's Korean-language humor and local references. Director Sim Seol-in said Lee’s comedic sensibility and interest in musicals made him a great fit; Lee spent months refining the script after an initial surprising invitation. The revival adjusted the age rating to include more daring, direct lines and emphasized Beetlejuice’s eccentric loneliness while adding localized jokes—some inspired by parodying other popular works (e.g., 'Inuyasha'). Lee balanced raw, boundary-pushing ideas with the production team’s guidance to avoid harming the show’s tone, and checked audience reactions online during the run. The team reports stronger audience engagement compared with the 2021 premiere; the musical runs at LG Arts Center Seoul through March 22. (Inuyasha: a Japanese anime/manga series)
