From Jan 9–18, Akyungdang Gallery in Daegu hosts an exhibition of magpie (ggachi, a Korean bird symbol) and tiger folk paintings and ceramics inspired by the Netflix animation K-Pop Demon Hunters. The show displays about 35 folk paintings and 12 ceramics collected over 30 years by social enterprise leader Seo Seong-kyo. Seo said director Maggie Kang and singer Lee Jae—who worked on the series’ OST—drew inspiration from traditional minhwa (Korean folk paintings), and he hopes today's youth will be inspired to create from these works.
