The Korean Cultural Center in New York hosts "New York New Ink" from Jan. 10–30, showcasing contemporary reinterpretations of traditional Korean ink wash painting (sumukhwa). Organized by the Jeonnam Foundation, the show brings eight internationally active artists — including Han Young-seop, Jung Kwang-hee, Kang Woon, K. Yoon, Kim Sang-yeon, Guseong-yeon, Lee Ee-nam, and Seol Bak — to highlight the spiritual and formal language of sumukhwa and its broad expressive range. The exhibition aims to renew global attention to the aesthetics and philosophy of Korean ink painting in a major art center.
