KOLMAR’s AI Scar-Beauty Device Wins CES Top Innovation Award

KOLMAR, a Korean cosmetics company, won the CES 2026 Best Innovation Award in the BeautyTech category for its AI-based “Scar Beauty Device.” The device combines scar treatment and makeup cover in one unit, using AI analysis of a photographed wound to classify it into 12 types and select appropriate therapies. It deploys piezoelectric micro-spray (a precise, low-heat spraying method similar to inkjet printers) to apply tailored treatment formulations and simultaneously mixes from 180+ color options to spray a matching cover makeup. KOLMAR also received an award in Digital Health, becoming the only cosmetics firm to win in the BeautyTech category so far. The firm plans to finish development in the first half of the year and pursue customers in the second half, aiming to enter medical markets needing both care and cosmetic coverage and eventually expand into personalized cosmetics platforms based on individual skin data.
