Park Seong-hyuk Appointed New KTO President to Boost Global Marketing

Park Seong-hyuk was inaugurated on January 7 as the new president of the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) at its Wonju headquarters. He pledged to help achieve the national goal of 30 million foreign visitors and outlined key priorities: targeted segmentation marketing for inbound tourism, building an AI-based digital marketing platform to improve traveler convenience, discovering and productizing attractive domestic tourism assets, and strengthening cooperative networks with the tourism industry and related agencies. He also urged KTO staff to adopt a performance-driven, considerate, and efficient organizational culture. Park brings extensive global marketing experience from his previous role as head of global operations at Cheil Worldwide, where he led strategies in Europe and North America. The appointment was formalized when Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Choi Hwi-young presented his commission on January 6, asking him to lead the leap forward of Korea’s tourism industry.
