Namyang Dairy Partners with Vietnam’s Top Retailer Phu Thai to Expand Infant Formula Business

Namyang Dairy (남양유업) has signed a strategic partnership with Phu Thai Group, Vietnam’s largest retail company, to expand its infant formula (조제분유) business in Vietnam. The three-year agreement aims to secure about $20 million in exports—the largest deal since Namyang entered Vietnam—by leveraging Phu Thai’s nationwide distribution network that covers traditional markets, baby specialty shops, supermarkets and convenience stores across 63 provinces. While global food sales are shifting online, Vietnam’s formula market remains mainly offline, making a reliable logistics and retail partner crucial for safety and quality assurance. Namyang plans to build a stable sales base focused on formula over the next three years and use this foothold to grow its global business. Phu Thai praised Namyang’s quality control and product trustworthiness, while Namyang called the deal a strategic step to prove the competitiveness of K-formula (K-분유) locally and to enable further international expansion.
