The Hanseong Baekje Museum in Seoul is trial-running a city-operated “Seoul-style kids café” at its attached Seoul Baekje Children’s Museum from January through March. The indoor play space is designed for infants aged 0–3 and is free for families with young children. Unlike the museum’s usual focus on preschool and elementary exhibitions, this venue offers sensory and physical activities tailored to babies. Designs are inspired by Baekje cultural motifs, including reinterpretations of animal forms from the Baekje gilt-bronze incense burner, creating a mythical atmosphere. The space features various-sized cubes modeled on the Rubik’s Cube (a twist puzzle made of smaller cubes) and European-style colors, which the museum says support balance and brain development in infants. After a temporary opening on Dec. 26, the site will operate flexibly with exhibitions, education and events during the trial; full opening is planned for May.
