The Korea National University of Arts (K-Arts) and the Korean Cultural Center in New York will host 'Creatives in Motion 2026' from Jan 15–17 at the New York Korean Cultural Center in Manhattan. The exchange program showcases performances by six selected alumni and current students across multidisciplinary genres—contemporary gugak (traditional Korean music), electronic music, contemporary dance, performance-theater (yeonhui), and experimental art—aiming to introduce Korean pure arts to international audiences and build long-term collaboration. The event coincides with the ISPA World Congress, offering about 20 young artists broader exposure. Featured works include pieces by O-Hellen, Cho Sun-ah, Bezier, Ha Yeon-ju, Sinne-deul, and NolPlus. The opening features pansori (traditional Korean narrative singing) by K-Arts professor Chae Su-jung, followed by a collaborative ensemble drawing together diverse artistic languages. Interactive programs such as 'Ajumma Running' (a participatory work expanding Sinne-deul’s practice) and 'ACHIM: Morning Rave' (a modern reinterpretation of Korean morning routines) invite audience participation and aim to engage local viewers beyond passive watching. K-Arts president Pyeon Jang-wan emphasized continued support for these artists to grow internationally.
