“If My Dog Took a Selfie…”: Ably’s AI Style Users Surge 30x

Ably, a Korean style-commerce platform, says users of its generative AI image service “AI Style” grew about 30 times after a trial launch. Since July, users can pick filters and upload photos to generate themed images. The service includes ‘AI try-on’ for outfits like idol stage costumes, wedding dresses, vintage and high-teen looks, and ‘AI concept’ filters such as “pet mirror selfie,” hairstyles, and situational themes like first drive, Monday commute home, and Christmas. Over a recent two-month period, user and content creation counts rose ~2,995% and ~2,992% respectively, while AI Style revenue grew ~418%. The pet-related filters—especially “mirror selfie” for pets—drove large short-term spikes, and upcoming hanbok (traditional Korean dress) New Year filters also saw early interest. Ably aims to become a “style portal” offering both shopping and engaging content, improving app experience and expanding seller reach.
