Chairman Choi Byung-oh of Hyungji Joins President Lee’s Trade Delegation to China, Eyes Deals with Chinese Giants

Choi Byung-oh, chairman of Fashion Group Hyungji and head of the Korea Textile Industry Association, joined President Lee Jae-myung’s economic delegation to China, attending key meetings from a business forum to the state banquet. As the only fashion executive at a high-level roundtable that included leaders from Samsung, Hyundai, SK, and LG, Choi presented Hyungji’s K-fashion success and its joint venture in China’s premium school uniform market (BONO and Shanghai Elite). He also outlined the company’s push into ‘senior wearable robots’ as a next-generation growth area for an aging society. Participation in the small, post-summit state dinner with President Lee and President Xi underscored Hyungji’s role in fusing fashion with AI and robotics. Hyungji says the trip strengthens Korea–China cooperation and supports its ambition to lead smart clothing and wearable robot markets.
