Copenhagen, named the world’s most livable city by the Economist Intelligence Unit for 2025, blends historical heritage and modern urban life to offer visitors an immersive, slow-paced travel experience. Royal sites like Rosenborg Castle, Amalienborg, and Christiansborg sit alongside tidy harbors and contemporary architecture, creating a calm, balanced cityscape. The bike-friendly streets and pedestrian-first design encourage exploring at leisure rather than rushing between sights; locals even swim in the well-maintained harbor, reflecting Copenhagen’s people-centered approach. Known for its design identity—simplicity, functionality, and beauty—Copenhagen feels like a “living design environment.” Many travelers find its character in everyday moments: strolling palace gardens, sipping coffee in a square, or watching the harbor at dusk. Since last September, SAS has operated a regular Incheon–Copenhagen direct flight, improving access for Korean visitors and positioning the city as a hub for Nordic travel. Rikke Holm Petersen notes winter is a great time to experience hygge (a Danish concept of cozy, contented well-being), local food culture, saunas, and quieter museum visits.
