Jincheon County in North Chungcheong Province is pushing several urban development projects to attract residents and support a growing workforce. In July, the 2,450-unit Punglim I-Won Trinium apartment complex in the Gyoseong district (approx. 355,227㎡) was completed to house workers moving in for nearby industrial parks. The Seongseok district “mini new town” development (approx. 371,115㎡) will add about 2,351 housing units; compensation and land acquisition started last year and are progressing. The Sincheok district in Deoksan-eup (approx. 224,761㎡) will provide about 500 units including apartments, single-family homes, mixed-use facilities and parks, with infrastructure planned by early 2026. The Gyoseong New district will add about 719 units on a 60,180㎡ site. Officials expect these projects to help raise Jincheon’s population—which rose from 67,981 in 2015 to 85,909 by Nov. last year—and potentially support a bid to upgrade the county to city status. The county says it will concentrate administrative efforts to ensure smooth implementation.
