On the 10th at KT&G Sangsangmadang Chuncheon Art Center, recorder player Jo Jin-hee presents “2026 Early Music Imaginary Journey” under the theme “Breath.” The site-specific concert uses the venue’s whole space: Chuncheon Recorder Orchestra opens in the 1st-floor lobby with film soundtrack arrangements (including Burt Bacharach’s “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head” and Joe Hisaishi’s “Always With Me” from Spirited Away), a recorder duo performs on the 2nd-floor ramp, a trio plays Erik Satie’s chanson “Je te veux” in the gallery, and a quartet moves through the halls with Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No.3 plus familiar movie tunes like “Over the Rainbow.” Jo closes with Marais’s Spain-influenced “Folia” in the sound hall. The program—featuring performers Cha Mi-ran, Lee Ji-hye, Park Sang-in and Choi Kyung-seon—invites audiences to experience the breath and warmth of the recorder up close amid the venue’s architecture.
