Acting CEO Choi Cheol-gyu opened Kangwon Land’s 2026 kickoff at High1 Grand Hotel, calling for a shift from planning to execution to deliver measurable results. The company set three main tasks for the year: 1) Casino regulatory reform—aligning rules with international standards (including betting limits, machine/table counts, time‑based limits, and policies for foreign and member gaming areas) to strengthen competitiveness as K-HIT masterplan projects begin; 2) Achieving zero major accidents—overhauling safety management across planning, design, construction, and operations as infrastructure work accelerates; 3) Regional coexistence—supporting coal‑industry transition areas by turning mining heritage into future assets, including opening the M650 cultural complex in June as a non‑casino cultural hub. Choi emphasized cooperative, whole‑of‑government efforts and urged staff to convert last year’s vision into concrete outcomes.
