Since the end of January, access to Baeknokdam, the summit crater of Hallasan in Jeju, South Korea, has been restricted due to heavy snow accumulation. Snowfall has created a 2-meter high snow wall, blocking the trail. Despite ongoing snow removal efforts, adverse weather conditions have kept the trail closed for a month. The restriction is expected to last until early March, depending on weather conditions, marking a rare extended closure of the summit path. Other trails remain partially accessible but are also experiencing weather-related restrictions. Hallasan Park officials are closely monitoring conditions to ensure safety.
