Coupang-Mussinsa Dispute Over Executive Moves Ends After Court Dismissal

A legal dispute between Coupang and fashion e‑commerce platform Musinsa over whether two executives who moved from Coupang to Musinsa stole trade secrets has ended. Coupang had filed a petition last July seeking to bar the executives from working at Musinsa, alleging breach of non‑compete agreements and misuse of trade secrets such as “Rocket Delivery” (Coupang’s fast logistics service). The court dismissed the injunction on Nov. 24, finding insufficient evidence of trade secret theft and stressing respect for freedom of job choice; Coupang briefly appealed but withdrew the appeal on Dec. 17. Musinsa said the ruling confirms the legality of employee mobility and pledged to continue lawful, fair hiring to attract talent. Coupang offered no further comment.
