Gangwon Provincial Dance Company Performs in Practice Room

The Gangwon Provincial Dance Company, led by artistic director Kim Jin-mi, will hold its first planned performance of the year in their practice room due to the absence of a dedicated performance hall. This innovative attempt to transform everyday spaces into performance venues allows the audience to experience the artists' environment, creating a new dynamic called 'Majeong.' The concert, combining elements of gradual artistic expression ('Shina') with brunch ('Shina Brunch'), is set to take place at the Gangwon Gugak Art Center's rehearsal stage and has quickly sold out due to high expectations.
The performance will feature various pieces choreographed or reinterpreted by Kim Jin-mi, including 'Golden Resonance Ripple Sound,' which uses a small instrument, and a unique interaction between dance and cello music. The event aims to break the conventional image of performances, offering audiences an intimate viewing experience. The dance company hopes this approach will broaden the cultural scene and its audience. Key events scheduled for the year include a dance drama in Gangneung and other performances.
