In Gyeongju, the immersive media-art exhibition 'Flashback: Gyerim'—inspired by Silla myths and legends—has become a popular New Year destination. Visitors move through narrative spaces like the Red Gate (symbolizing a doorway to mythic time), Guardians, Samsinsan, Najung, Sindansu, Dragon’s Path, Cheonjongo, and the finale 'Flashback.' For the Year of the Red Horse (byeong-o year), the Red Gate and the Geoseogan zone—based on the birth myth of Park Hyeokgeose—feature a striking red horse installation that evokes energy, leap, and good fortune. The exhibition’s storytelling culminates in the purification of dark shadows by light, resonating with visitors who seek closure of the old year and a fresh start. From January 1, 2026, all visitors receive 26% off, and those born in the year of the horse get a 50% on-site discount. As an indoor exhibition less affected by weather, it’s positioned as an attractive and symbolic stop for New Year trips to Gyeongju.
