'Running Core' Emerges as Korea's Top Fashion Trend in 2025

MUSINSA released its "2025 Trend Report" analyzing activity from 16 million users and found "running core"—the integration of running shoes and activewear into everyday fashion—was a defining trend this year. Running shoe sales on MUSINSA rose about 83% year-on-year, with total shoe sales exceeding 6.6 million pairs and the Nike Air Force 1 White selling over 55,600 pairs as the single best-selling item. MUSINSA identified eight key trends including running core, lightweight padding, sagging (wearing pants low on the hips), and bag decoration ("bag-꾸미기"). In beauty, perfume was the most-searched item and sales increased 24% from last year. MUSINSA attributes these insights to its large dataset of purchases, searches, and reviews from new and existing members.
