The Chungnam Cultural Tourism Foundation will run the "2026 Arts Support Regular Open Call" from Dec 16, 2025 to Jan 16, 2026 to strengthen stable creative activity for local artists and art groups. The foundation restructured its support system to address regional artistic needs: the former emerging artist program is now "Youth Arts Creation Support" (청년예술창작지원) to help early-career creators build skills and stay in the region; the "First-Time Creation Support" lowered eligibility barriers by removing age limits and opening to any artist without prior public grants, focusing on creative history and need rather than age; and indirect support programs for capacity building were expanded across all fields while two previously separate programs (social-value-specialized and conservation) were merged to better connect cultural resources and artistic activity. The open call covers 13 Chungnam arts support subprograms plus a performing-arts resident company support program, totaling 210 million won, with applications accepted online through the National Culture and Arts Support System (NCAS). On-site briefings for artists will be held Jan 6 in Buyeo and Seosan. The foundation says the reform aims to provide systematic support from early creators to professionals and invites active participation from local artists.
