Seolleung Art Hall to Stage Traditional Arts Series 'Bulhwigipeun Sori' in Early 2026

Seolleung Art Hall will present the 8th edition of its traditional arts series 'Bulhwigipeun Sori' from Jan 2 to Mar 7, 2026, with performances every Wednesday through Saturday (about 30 shows). The program title is taken from a line in the classic 'Yongbieocheonga' and signals the hall’s commitment to nurturing artists’ traditional skills. Performances will feature sanjo (improvised instrumental solo), pansori (narrative vocal music), and pungnyu music (court/genre music) with many artists delivering demanding, near-complete pansori performances. The venue provides comprehensive support—planning, promotion, staff, and facilities—so artists can focus on performance. Selected standout artists from this and other 2026 traditional vocal programs will receive support to produce video and audio through Seolleung Art Hall’s 'Masterpiece' digital content project.
