“Casino Meets AI” — GKL and Naver Cloud Build Korean Sovereign AI Tourism Platform

GKL, the state-owned operator of the foreigner-only casino brand Seven Luck, signed an agreement with Naver Cloud to jointly develop AI technologies for Korea’s tourism industry. The partnership aims to advance ‘sovereign AI’ (data-sovereignty focused AI) by co-creating tourism AI services, providing technical support and consulting to accelerate AI adoption across the sector, running joint education programs to build AI talent, and conducting pilot projects for social value. GKL will contribute its large operational datasets and testing environment from casino operations, while Naver Cloud will offer its cloud and AI expertise for validation and commercialization. GKL’s CEO said the deal will help drive AI transformation in tourism and evolve GKL into a global urban premium tourism platform.
