K‑culture demand drove record sales for the National Museum Foundation’s museum goods line called “Muuz” (museum + goods). The foundation reported annual sales surpassed 40 billion won (~US$30 million) for the first time since its 2004 founding. Monthly sales rose from the 2 billion‑won range in spring to nearly 5.3 billion won in August, a spike linked to global interest after the Netflix animation "K‑pop Demon Hunters." Sustained monthly sales in the 4 billion‑won range pushed total revenue past 30 billion won in October and 40 billion won by late November. The boom also boosted museum visitors — the National Museum recorded over 6 million visits, its highest since 1945 — and sparked “open‑run” queuing before opening times. Popular Muuz items blend traditional Korean aesthetics with modern design, such as a miniature Ban'gasa-yusang (Buddhist statue), color‑changing cups, dancheong keyboard accessories, and Silla‑era inspired pieces; regional items include Daegu museum’s hanbok clips and traditional hat pen designs. The foundation plans a France collaboration with Grand Palais Rmn to create joint products themed on “smiles,” pairing Korea’s famed gilt Bodhisattva statue with France’s Mona Lisa.
