CJ Olive Young’s in-store AI skin diagnosis service “SkinScan” has surpassed 1 million cumulative uses. The company updated its mobile app so users can view detailed results — including skin type, pigmentation, oiliness, pores, and wrinkles — anytime and link in-store measurements to online shopping. SkinScan provides personalized care routines, product and ingredient recommendations, and compares results with age-group averages to help set skincare goals. Customers link scans to their Olive Young app via a member barcode or a diagnosis code; even non-members can retrieve results. The service currently operates in about 60 major stores (including Gangnam, Seongsu, and Hongdae) and will expand to over 100 stores next year. Olive Young also plans to integrate scalp diagnosis (“SkinScan Scalp”) and personal color measurement (퍼스널컬러) for a more comprehensive beauty-care experience. The company aims to create a seamless on-offline (omnichannel) experience for shoppers.
