New Year sculpture reinstalled at Haeundae Beach after early removal

On Dec. 29, 2025, a New Year sculpture was reinstalled at Haeundae Beach in Busan ahead of 2026, the “Year of the Horse.” The original sculpture—depicting an astronaut riding a horse—was installed on Dec. 24 but was taken down the next day after criticism over poor workmanship. The local district office removed it, then reinstalled the sculpture on the afternoon of Dec. 28. (Haeundae Beach is a famous beach in Busan.)
