Seoul Museum of History has published the catalog for 'Aga Majung,' a special exhibition at the Seoul Life History Museum running through March 29 next year. The 13th themed exhibition explores changes in pregnancy and childbirth culture among Seoul citizens in an emotional, accessible way. Since opening on March 14, the show drew about 26,000 visitors through April 21. Promotional items — diaper bags celebrating the Year of the Horse (병오년) given to the first 100 pregnant visitors who posted on SNS, and 2,000 commemorative postcards obtained after an in-gallery stamping activity — sold out and prompted additional production. The new catalog is a 128-page, 16-cheop (a Korean paper/size reference) picture-book style publication that includes exhibition texts, photos of artifacts, and curator essays, designed to be enjoyable for children as well as adults. The catalog will be available on the museum’s official website, at Seoul Bookstore and the museum café, and distributed to public museums and libraries nationwide. Museum director Choi Byung-gu said the project aims to offer a bright, hopeful message amid Korea’s low birthrate challenges.
