Successful Start of 'Visit Gangwon Year' with 1.85 Million More Tourists

In January, Gangwon Province in South Korea attracted 1.315 million tourists, marking a 16.4% increase from the previous year. This growth was boosted by popular events like the Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival. Enhanced transportation, such as new railway lines, also contributed. However, foreign tourist numbers slightly declined due to fewer international events. Gangwon aims to continue promoting its attractions, like the Chuncheon Uiamho Suspension Bridge and Wonju Sogeumsan Grand Valley, to draw more visitors.
