Artificial Snow Transforms Ulsan Old Downtown for 19th Seongnam-dong Snow Flower Festival

Ulsan’s Jung-gu district wrapped up the 19th Seongnam-dong Snow Flower Festival, held for five days under the theme “Ice Seongnam-dong.” Because natural snow is rare in Ulsan, organizers used 70 artificial snow machines to create snow displays that drew over 250,000 visitors, with peak crowds above 7,500 on Christmas. Attractions included illuminated night displays, a tree photo zone, snowman-making, and hands-on activities such as tarot, nail art, and wishing-tree workshops. Empty storefronts were repurposed as Christmas pop-up stores, helping nearby businesses — some doubling usual sales — and contributing to the revival of the old downtown area.
