From Shepherd Boy to King: CGN to Release GODTOON Feature 'David' in January

Christian broadcaster CGN will release its first full-length GODTOON (God + cartoon) animation, 'David', on January 1. The roughly 40-minute film follows David’s early life—from a shepherd boy to his ascent to the throne—covering events from 1 Samuel 16 to 2 Samuel 5. CGN says the animation uses AI and 3D technology for enhanced visual realism, offering a different look from its short-form GODTOON (a series aimed at teaching the Bible to children) videos. The GODTOON YouTube channel has about 29,000 subscribers and 4.7 million total views across some 190 pieces of content. CGN also released GODTOON’s first official song, “King David,” available on Korean music platforms (Melon, Genie, Bugs, Vibe) and YouTube. 'David' will premiere on the Christian OTT service Pongdang (1/1 at midnight), then air on CGN TV (1/1 at 1 PM) and on the GODTOON YouTube channel (1/1 at 6 PM).
