The National Iksan Museum in South Korea is extending its special exhibition 'Mireuksaji Excavated Chimi' until May 25 to celebrate its 5th anniversary. This exhibition highlights the traditional roof tile decoration known as 'chimi' from the largest Baekje temple, Mireuksaji. It features 185 related artifacts, including a 143 cm high chimi and the historically documented 'geojak,' a metal rod to prevent birds from landing on it. The exhibition also explores the internal structure, production methods, and preservation process of the chimi artifacts. Mireuksaji temple was founded in the 7th century and continued through the Joseon period (1392–1897).
