Lee Bongsun of ReConvention Receives Presidential Citation for Boosting Busan Tourism MICE Industry

Lee Bongsun, CEO of Busan-based tourism MICE company ReConvention, received a presidential citation for contributions to Korea’s tourism and regional MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) industry. The award was presented at the 52nd Tourism Day ceremony organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Over 25 years, Lee and her firm have planned and run major international events—such as the 2024 37th International Geoscience Congress (IGC) and the 2025 IUGG meteorology, oceanography and cryosphere conference—helping attract large numbers of foreign visitors, earn foreign exchange, create jobs with partner firms, and revitalize the local economy. ReConvention is noted for integrating regional tourist resources with MICE programming to create distinctive tourism content. Lee said she will continue developing creative tourism offerings and expanding international cooperation to strengthen Korea’s tourism competitiveness and local tourism growth.
